Julia Miyaoka
Associate Professor in the Decision Science Department at San Francisco State Univeristy

Julia Miyaoka is an associate professor in the Decision Sciences Department at San Francisco State University. She completed her Ph.D. in the Management Science and Engineering Department at Stanford in 2003. Her research interests are in the area of supply chain management and she teaches operations management, forecasting, project management, and statistics. Prior to her Ph.D. she worked in manufacturing and industrial engineering positions at Raychem Corporation, Baxter Healthcare, and Applied Imaging. Julia has a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and an M.S. degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Stanford.

Hector Vega
Project Director, W.W. Grainger

Hector Vega is a project director for W.W. Grainger Inc. His current position is located in Patterson California, the site for Grainger’s new 1 million square foot super regional distribution center. Hector has been on site and in charge of all facets of the entire construction project (The facility will open for operation in late October). Hector has received such high marks for managing the project that Grainger has created a position in the company for him for other facilities planned for construction.  Hector has been employed in past careers by Southland Industries, McMaster Carr and Xpert Tune. He has also founded Academic Sciences, a company whose mission is to provide educational services and guidance to low income Hispanic families. Hector holds an MBA from Loyola Marymount University and received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
